About Me

Hi. I’m Rob McKichan.
I’m not just another real estate broker.

Sure; I’ve won awards* for selling homes and properties. But I’m Different in a way that really matters to You. Most other agents take a transactional approach to sales. They spend a majority of their time and energy prospecting for NEW clients with ineffective advertising. They do things like cold calling, door knocking, billboards, etc. I choose not to work that way. I believe you deserve more from the professional you decide to work with. I prefer to take a, consulting approach, and do whatever is best for YOU. That is why I work by referral.

You see, relationships are more important to me than any single transaction. I devote myself to the needs of my clients at the deepest possible level, before, during, and after their move.

I have a vested interest in making sure that you are completely satisfied. I want you to be so, “fired-up” that you can’t wait to tell your friends and family about me and the fantastic service you received!

I know that in order to EARN your future referrals I must EXCEED your expectations.

And, I trust that when I do a great job for You...you will refer me to high quality people, similar to yourself.

My trust in you, allows me to focus my time and attention on, Your needs, and provide you with the highest level of service.

Instead of disappearing after the closing, you can expect me to keep in touch.

I send valuable information, and even call from time to time just to check in. I also hold a number of events, including an annual Client Appreciation Party, as a symbol of my Gratitude for your trust.

I hope you will call me for any of your Real-Estate-related needs.

If you were moving, or had a friend or family member who was, do you have an agent that you would refer them to?

I would like to be that agent.

Please forward them a copy of this introduction.

Previous Experience

I attribute my "overnight" success in Real Estate to 20 years of preparation!

19 years as the owner of a Security Systems and Surveillance Company gave me the opportunity to have worked in thousands of homes, and hundreds of buildings. I have negotiated at kitchen tables, at board room tables, dealer/franchise agreements and the sale of my business to a national energy company. I've practiced every form of sales; knocking doors, telemarketing, yellow pages, newspaper ads, radio ads, home shows, flyers, word of mouth, and working by referral - I know what works, and what doesn't. I've crawled through attics in old bungalows, and roughed in homes for builders. I've consulted or managed projects in nine provinces and five states, and protected some of Canada's most famous landmarks, highest security installations, and VIPs. I owned offices in Mississauga, Aurora, and Sarnia. I've been a Guest Speaker for a number of security events and organizations, including CSIS and ASIS.

16 years in the Army Reserves taught me the importance of hard work and attention to detail. Most of what we learn as a Tank Commander, Armour Reconnaissance Patrol Leader or Helicopter Rappel Master does not translate directly into civilian life - it's the character that survives. Courage, leadership and integrity are highly sought attributes in today's corporate world, and the Army is a great place to find them. I was also able to live across Canada, and travel to the U.S., UK, Belgium and France. I am a member of the 1H - 1st Hussars Association, and a Lifetime Member of the GGHG - Governor General's Horse Guard's Association. Occasionally I still get the opportunity to volunteer with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets or Royal Canadian Army Cadets for Rappelling at Kelso, or other events.

Before starting Real Estate I was also Vice President, Business Development for Torchview Inc., and a Facility Manager for Johnson Controls serving Clorox Canada and Osram Sylvania Ltd.

I live in Oakville with my wife and three young children (born at OTMH).

As a member of the OPBC - Oakville Power Boat Club, I have volunteered for, or helped raise money for, a number of worthwhile events including the Olympic canoe and kayak team, and the Annual Easter Seals Regatta.

I look forward to the opportunity to serve you.

Oh, by the way... I'm never too busy for your referrals.
